Artist Statement
I am Daniel, a painter from Leipzig. Since 2019, I have been working under the name danh1z – after training as a glass and porcelain painter in Kaufbeuren, which taught me that craftsmanship is the foundation of everything.
What drives me in painting is the tension between control and letting go. I work in layers – building up, revising, revealing. Spatula, brush, flowing paint. Whatever the picture needs.
The motifs change. Animals, cars, people. I paint what moves me, what challenges me, what I don't quite understand yet.
Every painting I sell is an original. Hand-signed, with a certificate of authenticity. My works hang in private and institutional collections in Europe, the USA, and South Korea.
