A Berlin bear wades through the water – between past and future. Behind him, the Brandenburg Gate and watchtower blur, while in front of him, the TV Tower glows in the cool turquoise of the night. The water reflects light, movement, and memory all at once.

Painted with acrylic in thick, expressive layers of palette knife and brushwork, earthy brown and ochre tones meet bright turquoise and white. This creates an atmosphere between heaviness and new beginnings, stillness and movement.

The bear appears determined yet thoughtful – like a figure seeking its way through change. Precisely this tension makes the work a tribute to Berlin and to all those moments that lie somewhere between memory and a new beginning.

Photos can only hint at texture, depth, and color brilliance – in reality, this painting is even more striking.

Handmade

The visible canvas structure and the individual application of paint are part of the creative process. Light, material, and brushstrokes give the work a depth that can only be found in the original painting.
