Three

At the edge of a quiet body of water, hidden in the dense greenery, a mother bear pauses briefly – as if she had long since noticed the viewer's gaze. In front of her, her cubs move through the bankside grass: one remains half-hidden in the thicket, the other is already by the water. Muted light falls through the canopy of leaves and lays warmly on their fur, while deep shadows still lie between the blades of grass. The scene appears calm and yet watchful. Almost as if everything could start moving again in the next moment. This, for me, is the core of this work: in this narrow moment between protection and wilderness, proximity and unpredictability. The water reflects the animals in dark blue and green tones, as if the same scene existed simultaneously in two worlds.
