Cold white, quiet blue tones, the polar bear as a resting force.
With this work, I wanted to capture a quiet moment between a polar bear mother and her cub. The gentle touch with which she rests her head against her cub conveys a sense of security, trust, and closeness for me. This brief moment of affection is precisely what makes the motif so special to me.
I built up the light white and blue tones in several layers to bring out the soft fur structure and the calm atmosphere of the painting. Loose brushstrokes and subtle color transitions created a composition that is entirely characterized by warmth, care, and connection.
Photos can only hint at texture, depth, and color brilliance – in reality, this image has an even stronger impact.
